Job description

A NASDAQ-listed company building a world-class dating app that is implementing visionary new technologies is looking for a Google Cloud Platform Engineer. The engineer will be in working closely with the product and design teams to build new and innovative application experiences. The company is determined to impact millions of lives across the globe and make dating safe, secure, fun, and innovative. This position requires 8+ hours of overlap with the BST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product and design teams to build new and innovative application experiences
  • Communicate, participate, and help junior engineers 
  • Analyze performance metrics to conclude and drive change
  • Optimize back-end and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance
  • Contribute technical ideas and suggestions to enhance product direction
  • Develop test cases and own the quality of solutions you deliver

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Deliver consumer-facing, mass market, networked, high-performance solutions
  • Prior experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and testing techniques
  • Demonstrable experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Prolific experience with Go or PHP or Java/Kotlin languages
  • Extensive experience developing APIs and integrating third-party services
  • Hands-on experience in relational databases and SQL
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to work on diverse projects
  • Solid understanding of analytics, remote reporting, measurements, experiments, and AB test systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer science foundations such as algorithms, data structures, concurrency, threading, and programming languages
  • Experience with front-end technologies including React, JavaScript/Typescript is a plus 
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
