Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Identify business challenges & opportunities for product/service improvements and solve them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
  • Experience in data cleaning & wrangling, quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers
  • Partner with product, operation, and engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
  • Inform, influence, support, and execute product decisions and product launches
  • Forecast and set product team goals, designing and evaluating experiments
  • Monitor key product metrics, and understand the root causes of changes in metrics
  • Conceptualize dashboards/reports basis business requirements
  • Build and analyze dashboards and reports, build key data sets to empower operational and exploratory analysis, and evaluate and define metrics
  • Propose what to build in the next roadmap, understand ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends
  • Identify new levers to move key metrics and build models of user behaviors for analysis or to power production systems
  • Influence product teams through the presentation of data-based recommendations
  • Communicate the state of business, experiment results, etc., to product teams, and spread best practices to analytics and product teams

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree/MA in business, computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • 3-8 years of experience working as a business analyst
  • Ability to structure business requirements into a series of analyses and perform quantitative data analysis, write reports, and present findings
  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, MATLAB)
  • Applied statistics or experimentation (i.e. A/B testing) in an industry setting
  • Knowledge of business analysis techniques such as data analysis, gap analysis, process mapping, and requirements definition
  • Communicate the results of analyses to product or leadership teams to influence the strategy
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) concurrently with US time zones for a minimum of 4 hours/day
  • Fluency in English to effortlessly collaborate with engineering managers at U.S. companies

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate complex problems and identify solutions
