Skills required to become a React developer
The first step is to acquire the basic skills that companies look into while hiring for React developer jobs. Here comes the complete list of skill sets to get placed for remote React developer jobs.
1. HTML + CSS
React developers should be capable of performing the following at a high level:
- Create and build components using semantic HTML elements, and also write them.
- Work with CSS selectors and write them.
- Apply a CSS reset.
- Recognize the box model and how to return to border-box mode.
- Flexbox is something you should be familiar with.
- Work with and integrate responsive web principles, such as the proper use of media queries.
2. JSX
The React.createElement() API is abstracted using JSX. The API would be too difficult to grow without it, which is one of the reasons it's vital to the library and why the React team picked it in the first place. React.createElement() could theoretically be used to build a whole application. Nevertheless, that would be no faster than using HTML directly. Although putting our Markup into our template logic may appear to be a step backward, all it takes is a few minutes with JSX to fall in love with the aesthetic.
3. JavaScript Fundamentals + ES6
You can't master React without a solid grasp of the JavaScript language's fundamental fundamentals, but ES6 abilities like variables and scoping, Arrays and objects, Array methods, Functions and arrow functions, DOM Manipulation, and event handlers are also essential.
4. Git
Git is a must-have in every developer's toolset for storing projects on services like GitHub, Bitbucket, and GitLab. The following are skills that should be part of your day-to-day schedule:
- Adding, committing, pushing, and pulling changes
- Strategies for branching and merging
- Dealing with merge conflicts
5. Node + npm
Many people may be surprised by Node. To be hired for remote React developer jobs, why would you need to know Node in-depth? While you can use React on any HTML website, there are a variety of packages that will allow you to enhance the framework.
The npm registry is essential for React developers. This is where software engineers can get software to help in software development. That may sound odd, but npm is precisely that: a cloud storage service for dependencies, or packages.
6. Redux
State management is built into React. Many developers have been stressed because of studying the asynchronous nature of state updates and how React manages them. Redux was created for this reason, as well as for scalability. Redux is a state management library that may be used for a variety of tasks. It's more of a way of thinking about data than a framework. Redux is founded on functional programming and immutability principles, but it isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. Prior to getting into Redux, it's critical to understand the fundamentals of React programming.
