How to become a Swift/React Native Developer?

In the preceding decade, we've seen an explosion in the usage of cellphones all around the world. Just as Steve Jobs prophesied, we now carry the virtual environment in our pockets. We can do anything on our phones, from shopping to investing. As a result, we're seeing an increase in the number of developing frameworks for mobile and even PC apps.

The popularity of iOS applications has expanded all across the world. Swift is well-known, easy to pick up, and works with almost all Objective-C capabilities. As a consequence, it's a great option for programmers.

React Native framework was released in 2015 by Facebook. It has completely transformed the mobile app business. React Native is an open-source JavaScript framework for building user interfaces (UIs) for mobile apps. It allows developers to create mobile apps that run on both Android and iOS devices.

The rise of Flutter and the demise of previous JavaScript frameworks have prompted concerns about React Native's long-term viability as a framework, but its popularity in recent years suggests that React Native is here to stay. Let's take a look at the scope of remote Swift/React Native developer jobs now.

What is the scope of Swift/React Native Framework?

If you want to break into an enterprise-level success, Swift is the language to master. The desire to learn new languages is insatiable for almost all programmers. Knowing which languages are becoming more popular and will help you develop in your career will assist you in prioritizing which languages to study first.

Because of its great compatibility with the Objective-C codebase, Swift has established itself as the preferred programming language in iOS app development. Swift is also gaining momentum in other fields as a compiled and powerful language.

React Native, on the other hand, provides perks that make life simpler for developers, entrepreneurs, and end-users because it is supported by the tech giant Facebook and has a large developer community.

Reusability of code is one of React Native's most important characteristics. It is one of the most cost-effective solutions, as well as saves time. 90% of the code used in the framework is the same for both operating systems. Cross-platform usage is required for the development of a successful mobile product. A developer who just understands JavaScript can make apps for iOS and Android without understanding Swift or Android Java. Isn't that exciting enough to apply for remote Swift/React Native developer jobs?

What are the roles and responsibilities of a Swift/React Native developer?

As a Swift/React Native developer, you'll be responsible for developing apps for Apple's iOS and Android devices, as well as publishing them on the App Store and Play Store, respectively. As part of a team, you will define, develop, and implement application features. You'll also find and fix issues that are caused by weaknesses and errors in the code.

The major responsibilities after landing remote Swift/React Native developer jobs are to:

  • Create high-performance apps for the Apple iOS platform.
  • Ensure that the app is of high quality, performs well, and is stable.
  • Collaborate with the internal development and designer teams to identify, build, and develop new features.
  • Recognize bottlenecks and resolve concerns about scalability.
  • Optimizing different aspects for web platforms and browsers
  • Prototypes and wireframes are used to create high-quality applications.
  • Converting current React web applications to React Native
  • Strong command of the JavaScript language and its intricacies

Jobs as a Swift/React Native developer also demand familiarity with comparable programming languages like Java, JavaScript, and Objective-C. Skills required to become a Swift/React Native developer

The first step in securing remote Swift/React Native developer jobs is to learn the essential skills. Let's take a closer look at them now.

1. Swift

Swift is a programming language created by Apple that may be used to create apps for iOS, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch. This is an important ability to have if you want to get remote Swift/React Native developer jobs. Swift is an easy to use, open-source programming language that allows anybody with an idea to create something unique. If you study for an hour each day, it will take you around one to two months to get a basic understanding of Swift. If you study part-time or full-time, you can learn Swift's concepts in a shorter length of time. Swift closely resembles Ruby, Python and Objective-C. If you've ever programmed in Ruby or Python, Swift could be of interest to you.

2. SwiftUI

SwiftUI, an Apple framework that allows you to create Swift apps for iOS, macOS, tvOS, and even watchOS, is the second key skill. SwiftUI is a set of tools for building apps that includes how to show pictures, text, buttons, text boxes, data tables, and more. SwiftUI isn't a Swift replacement; it's a framework built on top of Swift that allows us to build apps. To succeed, you'll need both Swift and SwiftUI.

3. JavaScript

A skilled Swift/React Native developer is well-versed in JavaScript ideas. React and React Native is built on JavaScript. As a result, a candidate for remote Swift/React Native developer jobs should have a solid understanding of ES6 and React. Most employers will ask you technical questions to assess your mastery of ES6 and React. Recruiters prefer candidates who have worked with React Native. So, if you've created a React Native app, be sure to have them on hand.

4. Version control

Version control, which may be done using a program like Git, is another must-have ability. You don't need much here, but you must be able to share your code publicly, such as on GitHub, so recruiters may see it. It's fine if you don't totally grasp how Git works; all you need to know are the fundamentals in order to store your data safely and cooperate with others.

5. Performance Optimization

After you've completed writing the code, you'll need to evaluate its performance. You should examine if the program is adequately optimized, even if the code is clean and straightforward. Understanding the user's perspective and convenience is important to optimization. It's more about looking at the project as a whole and evaluating the small details. Finding realistic and suitable solutions to guarantee that the program runs smoothly is what optimization is all about. As a result, if you're a budding Swift/React Native developer, knowing how to optimize your code is critical to a successful product launch.
