Job description

A U.S.-based company that is enabling early-stage AI businesses to effectively connect and network with global markets, is looking for a Data Science Lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing a vast number of data to look for patterns and trends. Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up the initial data lake on Google Cloud in collaboration with the other team members, deploy it as planned, and fine-tune the data scraping, modeling, and data set management
  • Take charge of the collection, processing, and analysis of design data
  • Create models to solve business issues
  • Find useful data sources and automate the processes for gathering it
  • Preprocess data, both organized and unstructured
  • Regularly share the results with business teams and take action on the feedback received
  • Manage the database design and develop maintenance methods and put them into practice
  • Work with database software to find ways to store, organize, and manage data
  • Promote excellence and constant quality improvement 
  • Use ensemble modeling to combine models
  • Collaborate with managers and high-level contributors
  • Utilize data visualization techniques to present information

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/BSc/BA degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a Data Science Lead
  • Strong analytical skills and proficient understanding of programming languages like Python or R
  • In-depth knowledge of statistics, Machine Learning, and SQL
  • Extensive knowledge of the GCP platform, the Data Lake, and data analytics/processing pipelines
  • Prior experience working with both structured and unstructured data, managing that data, and using modern data transformation techniques
  • Some experience working for fintech companies serving the U.S. market is desirable
  • Nice to have knowledge of using company and industry data in AI models for investors in publicly traded equities markets
  • Excellent risk assessment abilities and the ability to comprehend the possible dangers associated with investing in a startup, as well as the potential rewards
  • Ability to think critically about the startup's business strategy, value proposition, and growth potential
  • Excellent ability to solve problems and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical mind and business acumen
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
