Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing data-powered direct marketing, brand strategy, and media mix modeling services is looking for a Sr.Data Scientist .

The selected candidate will report directly to the VP of Technology & Data and will be in charge of solving the clients’ technical and data-related problems. The company is providing clients and businesses with the market’s next media evolution through advanced analytics. This role requires 4+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone.  

Job Responsibilities:

Work as part of a team while developing applications and services using agile development methods

Mine, aggregate, and analyze data from databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies

Build and code the models while elevating the existing models

To assist brand clients in making the best decisions possible about the distribution of their marketing and eCommerce expenditure, edit and develop intelligent models

Create algorithms, create models to figure out what sales data is missing Demonstrate thought leadership and product development leadership for the development of new and existing statistical models with the goal of maximizing return, minimizing costs, and achieving the best possible business outcomes for clients

Ensure the optimum performance, high availability, and stability of solutions

Participate in frequent collaboration with the Head of Engineering to develop technical solutions, often involving coding and/or editing existing code

Think out of the box and execute creative solutions

Build marketing mix modeling, propensity models, diminishing returns analysis, and campaign test design to assess and inform client return on media investment

Elevate and maintain the marketing data science offering.

Help facilitate and automate the normalization, summarization, and automation of disparate types of data for the proprietary analytics platform

Coordinate with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions

Work on planning, designing, and executing end-to-end web architectures

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer.

Demonstrable experience working with Data Science

Prolific experience working with Python, AWS, R, Jupyter Notebook, and Tableau

Strong knowledge of SQL with the ability to work with large datasets and advanced queries

In-depth knowledge of statistical methodologies like sales lift study, experiment design, and multivariate analysis

Must possess an impact-oriented mindset with the demonstrated ability to ask the right questions.

Strong problem synthesis skills, attention to detail, and data integrity

Extensive Data Collection experience with Excel, Google Analytics, SQL, Salesforce, and Adobe

Prior extensive, tactic experience in digital media data Experience performing analysis with large datasets and building reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools 

Prolonged exposure to Python data pipeline and ETL and Machine learning/statistical modeling

Ability to create models in the absence of sales data to infer or extrapolate sales data

Demonstrable ability to extract business insights from large datasets and use them to drive business change

Ability to work with AWS and GCP

Deep understanding and working knowledge of building and using comprehensive machine-learning models

Extensive experience with feature engineering, data pre-processing, data cleansing, model building, and model validation employing various machine learning techniques

Hands-on experience with various retail channel media datasets, and the ability to comprehend and interpret the data in ways that can be understood by business-level stakeholders

Prior experience with modeling in an AWS environment 

Must be a data thinker with the aptitude and ability to know how the pieces connect Nice to have some experience in data science and machine learning

Strong command of a mixture of tactical data science like user segmentation analysis, forecasting, and big data retailer modeling is desirable

Nice to have some experience solving clients’ tech/data-related problems

Ability to articulate concepts in layman’s terms is highly preferred

Must possess excellent business acumen

Nice to have some direct experience within retailer data – working at or with large, national retailers/grocers like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, or Albertsons

Experience with mixed-media modeling, user segmentation analysis, forecasting, big data retailer modeling, etc

.Prior experience working with an ad/marketing agency or with a high-tech startup is preferred

Familiarity with marketing mixed modeling experience is desirable

Nice to have some experience with sales lift study

Fluent in conversational and written English
