Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Create reliable, scalable, low-latency, and high-performance web applications
  • Mentor and manage the development team to design, develop, and deliver fully functional products
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and develop features that improve the user experience
  • Define standard practices and maintain brand consistency all across the web pages
  • Take ownership of all phases of software delivery including design, development, testing & support
  • Maintain and optimize applications for maximum speed and responsiveness
  • Ensure products conforms to high industry performance and quality standards
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and drive advancements
  • Research and implement web development best practices, industry trends, and processes in projects

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in front-end web development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Ample working experience with front-end technologies like React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, etc.
  • Proficiency in code versioning tools like Git, SVN, BitBucket, etc.
  • Expertise in integrating front-end features with back-end microservices
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX design and layout
  • Strong knowledge of responsive and cross-platform designs
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

  • Experience with Node.js, Java, Python, AWS
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop, and content management systems is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of front-end testing frameworks like Jasmine, Jest, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Agile development process
  • Great technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
