Job description

A rapidly-growing startup that provides service-related support and allows its users to find and book professional services, is looking for a Web Back-End Engineer. The engineer would be responsible for ensuring the company platform works efficiently by providing server-side support, optimization, and maintenance. The home services company is building a platform where a vast variety of skilled and experienced professionals can connect with users who’re looking for specific services. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who like to have their opinions influence key decisions and company culture.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Build scalable and robust products with high performance
  • Write clean, well-maintained, and reusable code
  • Effectively collaborate with various internal teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products
  • Establish coding and testing standards and ensure follow-through
  • Suggest and run innovative tech initiatives to drive the company toward continuous technical excellence

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Back-End Engineer
  • Proficiency using Python, and expertise with APIs and data manipulation
  • Previous experience with web development, and understanding of stacks such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Thorough knowledge of front-end stacks such as - React, Angular, and Vue.js as well as their libraries and frameworks
  • Background in back-end technologies and frameworks such as - Node.js, Django, and Flask
  • Demonstrable experience working with database design and management solutions (eg. SQL, NoSQL)
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
  • Keen understanding of and interest in AI-driven technologies
  • Experience with machine learning would be a plus
