Job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to assess optimal cloud solutions
  • Develop and manage cloud solutions following the best practices
  • Design database and data pipeline/ETL using emerging technologies and tools
  • Drive the team to develop operationally efficient analytic solutions
  • Define standards, methodologies for the Data Warehousing environment
  • Design, develop and deploy modular cloud-based systems
  • Review, modify and improve existing systems
  • Take initiatives in learning and implementing new cloud technologies
  • Create scalable data pipelines and ETL applications that support business operations in advertising, content, and finance/accounting
  • Assist with deciphering data migration issues and improving system performance

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years in building cloud solutions and modern data platforms/pipelines building experience (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
  • Experience in data engineering and cloud data processing services with AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python
  • Good understanding of ETL tools like Data Factory, Glue and data modeling
  • Working experience in Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Data Bricks, Snowflake
  • Solid understanding of the architecture of Data Warehouses and Data Lake concept
  • Knowledge of different frameworks including Spark, Hadoop, Hive, etc.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, Apache Airflow, and orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of databases including NoSQL, GraphSQL, etc.
  • Fluent in English to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

  • Knowledge of PySpark, Java is plus
