Job description

An NYSE-listed company that is offering supplemental insurance to customers as an extra measure of financial security, is looking for a Java Technical Consultant. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and integrating application software. The company is helping customers with out-of-pocket expenses that may not be covered by their major medical insurance. This is an exciting opportunity for developers who enjoy tackling complex problems in an analytical manner.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on projects as a team leader and provide advanced technical expertise
  • Participate in the team’s systems and data analysis, design, development, integration, and enhancement activities
  • Lead the project team in analyzing the software requirements 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate technology advancements and business solutions for assigned projects and/or applications
  • Provide continuous support to clients experiencing problems with server hardware, operating systems and core infrastructure applications, and related utilities
  • Assess projects and/or existing production applications and core infrastructure by looking for ways to improve the applications and their availability
  • Handle unresolved production support issues and analyze the current software architecture
  • Develop application and custom integration solutions, including major enhancements and interfaces
  • Write design specifications and provide leadership to support ongoing maintenance of client-server applications, depending upon previous involvement with projects
  • Facilitate performance, load and functional testing, and resolution of issues
  • Develop new software systems using disciplined software development processes


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
  • Extensive experience in Java and Spring Boot
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
