Job description

A fast-growing company on a mission to build an engaging and rewarding sports and digital entertainment platform for users is looking for a Data Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of building and optimizing advanced data warehouse solutions. The company is redefining the industry standards with their range of new products and new markets that provide users with world-class experiences. Job Responsibilities:

  • Rapidly evolve the data platform to supply the increasingly data-led needs of the business
  • Build on the company’s Azure SQL/Synapse-based cloud data warehouse, and embrace technologies like real-time processing and universal event logging
  • Ability to operate in a fast-moving environment to deliver value quickly in an agile fashion
  • Work with a strong international team based across Europe and Africa
  • Build and manage a highly robust and scalable Data Warehouse/ETL infrastructure and a scalable data pipeline that is capable of streaming and batch processing modes
  • Ensure fault-tolerant systems and processes with high data integrity underpinned by automated data quality monitoring and alerting
  • Constantly look for things to improve on, whether fixing recurring problems, delivering small but helpful features, or optimizing for performance 
  • Ensure the data security and privacy are of high quality 
  • Partner with both business stakeholders and product engineering to deliver high-value BI assets
  • Work with key stakeholders and partners to understand and shape requirements and drive the roadmap for the data platform

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5-7+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in T-SQL and U-SQL
  • Solid knowledge of Python 
  • At least 5+ years of experience with Azure Databricks, Python, MySQL, PySpark, and Azure Data Lake
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
