Job description

A well-established company on a mission to accelerate products and ideas that make a difference in people’s lives is looking for a Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be working closely with the Director of Data Science to create and implement operational work plans as part of the tech roadmap. The company is firmly focused on maximizing the potential of a health and wellness brand by leveraging specialized expertise. This will be a full-time position that requires 4+ hours overlap with the EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership and execute tasks with a sense of entrepreneurship
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company to own, implement, and scale the data and analytics infrastructure
  • Create strong ELT data pipelines from a variety of data sources using custom code and off-the-shelf SaaS solutions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and create a corporate cloud data warehouse that multiple users can use at the same time
  • Conduct quality assurance checks, clean, and merge various datasets for use by different downstream users while maintaining consistency across sources
  • Automate multiple workstreams in performance reporting and due diligence to boost employee productivity while also providing them with regular access to new data and insights
  • Create interactive dashboards and analytics tools for internal users
  • Support in-production machine learning workloads with real-time data streaming, ingestion, and feature engineering
  • Collaborate with the data science, acquisitions, and the brand management team to gather product requests and execute sprint planning

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • Demonstrable skills working with Python, R, and SQL
  • Experience in creating ETL/ELT pipelines from numerous API endpoints from a technical data analytics or engineering function
  • Working knowledge of BI and visualization software such as Tableau or Looker
  • Ability to act as a technical translator and strong communication skills
  • Fluent in English communication
