Job description

A globally established company that has been setting industry standards in the transportation industry, is looking for a Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for general supervision and supporting the design, build, test, and maintenance of data pipelines at big data scale while also assisting with updating the data from multiple data sources. The NASDAQ-listed company also offers integrated e-commerce and other business services, and has a global workforce of more than 500,000 employees. Job Responsibilities:

Resolve business problems and technical hurdles using Dataworks
Take charge of developing tools, platforms, and pipelines to assist teams to efficiently analyze data, build models and develop strategies
Ensure rapid tangible productivity while collaborating with multiple teams of different verticals
Deploy best practices to help in the future for reuse as accessible, reusable patterns, templates, and code-bases
Stay updated about peer technologists from the broader enterprise to ensure smooth deployment on downstream operational systems

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field such as Engineering or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)
At least 2+ years of experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem solving, simulation development and/or predictive analytics
Working knowledge of agile and DevOps best practices for project and software management including CI/CD pipelines
Experience working with technologies such as Spark (Scala and PySpark), HDFS, Kafka, and other high volume data tools
Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL storage tools, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch
Prior working experience with tools like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, Jupyter and other Python data tools
Proficient with data engineering and machine learning frameworks including design, development and implementation of highly complex systems and data pipelines
Experience in designing, developing and implementing large batch or online transaction-based systems
Well acquainted with the transportation industry, its competitors, and related evolving technologies
Prior experience of working alongside multi-functional project teams
Should be fluent in English with strong communication skills
