Job description

A fast-scaling platform helping users find social media profiles, photos, contact information, and more within seconds is looking for a Software Engineering Manager. The engineer will work alongside the systems development team while utilizing both front and back-end development skills to design solutions to complex application problems, systems administration issues, or network concerns. The company offers easy access to millions of records, including a detailed background report that can come in handy in making decisions about dating, relocation, criminal records, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging leader to impact the growing business and take on exciting new challenges.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, educate, and lead a globally dispersed engineering team that follows continuous development and testing methods
  • Support the team's development to ensure more productivity and innovations
  • To better serve clients and assure mission accomplishment, exercise both intellectual leadership and practical engineering implementations
  • Multitask on various projects and plan tasks to ensure operations stay on track
  • Manage the technical direction so that scalable, high-performing, and resilient systems may be designed and delivered
  • Evaluate data to determine, recommend, and plan the deployment of a new system or system modifications
  • Analyze user demands and software requirements to analyze the feasibility of a design under time and budget restrictions
  • Help design, develop, integrate, and deploy Systems Engineering and Integration solutions by applying knowledge of systems engineering processes, methodologies, tools, and program roles
  • Learn, implement, and develop platforms for capturing stakeholder and system needs, as well as promoting system dialogues and comprehension
  • Improve the engineering culture by making it more fast-paced and well-supported
  • Collaborate with software developers working directly on the projects
  • Encourage a broader grasp of modeling and support them in the development of several products

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing engineering teams 
  • Proficiency in Node, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS
  • Prolific skills in NoSQL databases, Angular, GIT, and Mongo
  • Nice to have B2B or B2C subscription experience 
  • Ability to collaborate with the team both strategically and tactically
  • Have the mentality of a player-coach
  • Experience working in a cross-functional Scrum team is a plus
  • Comfortable managing teams in times of ambiguity and change, as well as juggling several tasks in a fast-paced setting
  • Proven track record, and a passion for building and developing great teams
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Competency in creating reports and analyzing large sets of data across multiple websites and marketing channels
  • Proficiency in English
