Job description

A rapidly-growing company enabling users to harness the full potential of their genomic data is looking for a Back-End Developer. The developer will be responsible for building new features to enhance the product experience. The company is enabling science and discovery that will benefit all humankind by taking genomics to the next stage, fostering growth, and enabling the industry to scale to the future. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to promote genomics and contribute to the industry’s growth 
  • Develop solutions focusing on the storage, management, and governance of genomics data to address issues driven by improvements in sequencing technology
  • Dive into analytics and ML to revolutionize the use of genomics data, allowing scientists to leverage its full potential
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders and guide scientists’ exploration, serving as partners in their journey

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer 
  • Extensive experience in JavaScript, Typescript, and Scala
  • Expert-level knowledge in distributed systems
  • Demonstrable experience building microservices
  • Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages like Python, shell scripting, etc.
  • Knowledge of database systems such as MongoDB, FoundationDB, and NoSQL databases
  • Large capacity to pay keen attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver projects within stringent deadlines
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
