Job description

A high-growth startup building SaaS products that will help farmers to grow and manage their businesses more efficiently is looking for a Software Engineer. The selected candidate will join the team with a good understanding of the rigor and opportunity of an emerging startup and implement new technologies, tools, methods, and processes. The company’s mission is to make it simple for customers to purchase local, fresh food directly from local farms. It has successfully raised $16mn+ in funding while serving thousands of farmers across all 50 states in the US. Selected candidates will get the opportunity to learn what it takes to build a startup business, participate in ongoing training and education, and play a critical role in the company’s fast-paced growth.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical thinking with a high degree of technical innovation and attention to detail 
  • Serve as a trusted adviser and leader to the team
  • Balance out several complex and competing technical priorities and actively architect, design, develop, and test the solution
  • Produce well-thought-out code that prioritizes quality, simplicity, maintainability, and performance
  • Consider and advocate for the perspectives and experiences of customers
  • Take part in code reviews, which include testing and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with product owners to define the scope of work for future releases
  • Create and enhance small and large-scale testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • On a daily basis, challenge yourself by practicing self-driven learning and team problem-solving
  • Cultivate a diverse set of technical and non-technical skills as a result of the startup culture
  • Participate in the products' entire life cycle, including design, development, code reviews, patent creation, testing, documentation, and deployment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 1+ years of experience in full-stack development using an object-oriented language
  • 1+ years of experience in building responsive UIs using the latest JS Frameworks
  • Passionate about solving complex software engineering puzzles in a dynamic environment
  • A deep understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and asynchronous concepts is a must
  • Experience with performance testing, security testing, privacy testing, accessibility testing, or localization/globalization testing is required
  • Experience with NodeJS, React, Redux, and Webpack is a must
  • Familiarity with Stripe, Quickbooks, Heroku, AWS, Redis, Postgres, large scale data analytics, and failure analysis is nice to have
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating, and decision-making skills
