Job description

A U.S.-based company that has developed a well-respected and beloved social networking platform is looking for a Software Engineer. The engineer will be reporting to the Strategic Operations Lead and will be in charge of system configuration that can help people work more productively eg. JIRA. The company is enabling users to connect with each other and join communities of like-minded people, where they can hold discussions, share, and ponder over their common interests. This position requires a significant overlap with the PST time zone. During their Series F round, the company has managed to secure more than $1.1bn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the execution engine is functioning properly and that stakeholders are united around developing and implementing plans that support the company's overarching objectives by working together with key organizational leaders
  • Support key leadership teams by ensuring that the execution is proceeding well and removing any roadblocks that may appear
  • To act as the connecting force between the many functions in Product & Tech, collaborate at all levels of the organization
  • Organize the whole planning process, which includes goal-setting, investment planning, and product roadmaps, and make sure all stakeholders are participating as required
  • Review, plan, and implement organizational structure improvements
  • Identify knowledge and skill shortages and provide assistance in filling them
  • Consolidate strategic plans for review, create content, and promote communication across key Product & Tech domains while sharing regular product changes
  • Bring crucial knowledge and reliable, impartial advice
  • Converse confidently, particularly with engineering and product teams, but also with design, research, data science, GTM, and executive teams

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 3-+4 years of experience in product & technology-related business strategy, planning, and operations, ideally at a consumer tech startup
  • Prolific knowledge and experience with Atlassian 
  • Prior experience using technology to build dashboards and reports to support data-driven decisions
  • Excellent practical expertise in Scrum/Agile and other technical methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of organizing resources and staff at the organizational level
  • Extensive experience developing scaling-friendly processes. 
  • Frequent experience collaborating with VP/Dir level executives while also having the ability to engage with managers and ICs
  • Ability to successfully manage, prioritize, and guide several projects at once
  • Excellent analytical skills, a sense of ownership and urgency
  • Adept at developing scalable processes that allow cross-functional teams to decide and carry out strategic goals
  • Must be a strategic thinker and problem solver who is at ease using data and frameworks to organize the team's ideas and address complex issues
  • Ability to work together across businesses and teams with a strong business sense
  • Prior experience with management of resource allocation and staffing, as well as interaction with VP and C-Suite level executives
  • Solid knowledge of building scalable consumer internet products
  • Nice to have some understanding of how engineering scrum cycles work
  • Ability to bring order out of chaos while working in ambiguous circumstances
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
