Job description

A U.S.-based company that provides support-based diabetes management programs is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer. The selected candidate will be responsible for contributing to the preservation of code quality, organization, and automation. The company helps healthcare providers expand the reach of one-on-one chronic disease prevention and management. The company has managed to successfully raise close to $600K in funding. This will be a long-term, full-time role that requires some overlap with the IST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Create, build, and maintain Ruby on Rails code that is efficient, reusable, and dependable
Create an API for mobile apps and front-ends to use
Integrate front-end user-facing elements with server-side logic
Put together, test, and deploy front-end and back-end components to the cloud platform
Detect faults and bugs and come up with solutions
Assist in maintaining code quality, organization, and automation

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
Knowledge of Ruby on Rails
Familiarity with React, ReactNative, and MongoDB
Good understanding of server-side templating languages
Deep understanding of front-end technologies, such as ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Knowledge of writing Unit test
Solid understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Knowledge of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and REST API
Proficient understanding of Git
Familiarity with continuous integration
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Heroku) and app stores (Play, App Store)
Proficiency in English
