Job description

The engineer will be responsible for building robust data models and verifying the data integrity. The company is helping users to learn about their unique food responses, understand their metabolism, and ultimately attain health goals that lead to an optimized life. Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to maintain the infrastructure required for optimal transformation
  • Design, develop, and own data pipelines that will power the internal analytics used for product and business teams
  • Lead projects to identify, design, and implement internal process improvements
  • Implement data engineering best practices to build efficient solutions that enable effective data-driven decision making

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a data engineer
  • Demonstrated ability to convert abstract concepts into functional code
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a data-focused engineering role
  • Working knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases, query authoring, and familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Comfortability working with Postgres and DBT
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as JavaScript or Ruby
  • Prior experience building and optimizing AWS big data technology pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • Attention to detail to catch bugs, resolve edge cases, and perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced remote environment
  • Nice to have a genuine passion for health and wellness
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
