Job description

A renowned expert network that connects business top-dogs and researchers with well-informed independent professionals, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer. The developer will assist in the identification and assessment of transformational emerging technologies. The company connects clients with verified subject matter specialists, helping them leverage the insights and opinions, and empowering them to arrive at fast, accurate, and personalized solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for developers to showcase their wide range of skills. This role requires some overlap with the EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain mission-critical data pipelines that power flagship data products 
  • Utilize Python, Airflow, AWS, Snowflake, and SQL Server in collaboration with a team of talented data engineers to achieve company goals
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to automate and scale complex data models
  • Aid developers to perform some back-end database integrations
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and project strategies
  • Propose and assist in the development of health and performance monitoring systems and practices
  • Through code reviews and teach-ins, mentor the team on best practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of overall data, systems development, and integration experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or a related role
  • Demonstrable skills in planning and building critical technology solutions
  • Solid expertise with SQL and at least one modern programming language (Python, Scala, Java, C#)
  • Proficiency with database normalization, star/snowflake schemas, query optimization, etc.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Airflow, AWS, and Docker is a plus
  • High-level curiosity with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Keenness on solving complex Big data problems with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills 
  • A drive to work in a high-growth, rapidly evolving business
