Job description

A US-based company that helps customers manage complex financial transactions while dealing with acquisitions and mergers is looking for a Platform Engineer. The selected candidate will work with cross-functional teams to design and create platform capabilities. The company's comprehensive platform offers efficient solutions that smoothen out bilateral or syndicated loan deals during takeovers. During their Series A round, they managed to raise more than $5mn in funding. This is a great chance for developers to work with emerging technologies and experience rapid career growth.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take charge and ensure that all compliance, security, and regulatory requirements are met
  • Stay educated on current and new technology, as well as industry trends, to be a thought leader
  • Include the appropriate automation and tool setups to ensure quick delivery and safe consumption.
  • Create and develop processes and technologies that allow product engineering teams to consume an extensible and scalable infrastructure platform that enforces all necessary governance and operational norms
  • Offer ideas, thoughts, and guidance that are objective, realistic, and relevant 
  • Ensure that comprehensive capabilities are built with input from relevant business and engineering resources by forming institutional alliances and networks
  • Directly assist the company's use and delivery of platform services
  • Ascertain that all platform solutions adhere to security and compliance policies
  • Maintain the code and configuration of present and future software services
  • Offer suggestions regarding how to improve the current architecture
  • Assist with the implementation of new technologies in preparation for future deployment
  • Assist clients with platform adoption by providing technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and mentorship
  • Facilitate the implementation and improvement of the CI/CD software pipeline

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 2+ years of relevant experience as a systems engineering and/or software development
  • 2+ years of experience managing cloud infrastructure and AWS experience is preferred 
  • 3+ years experience as a system administrator with Linux OS is nice to have
  • Sound understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as software like container orchestration, observability, and CI/CD
  • Prior experience installing and maintaining multi-tenant IaaS and PaaS cloud solutions
  • Nice to have some experience with cloud solution design patterns like microservices, messaging, distributed caching, containers, IAM, etc.
  • Experience with modern API platform design, security practices, and data architectures like event-driven architecture is nice to have
  • Nice to have some knowledge of systems hardening and secure systems configuration
  • Understanding of assorted networking devices/software tools (brocade/cisco etc.) is desirable
  • Experience with regulatory compliance standards like HIPAA/PCI/SEC/FINRA is nice to have
