Job description

A NASDAQ-listed company that has managed to successfully develop a next-gen online marketplace for pre-owned cars is looking for a Data Scientist. The selected candidate will be working with a talented team of professionals and participating in the build-and-buy decision-making process. The company is on a mission to make car purchase and ownership simple, effortless, and more accessible by leveraging next-gen technologies to provide a hassle-free experience. The company has managed to secure $500 mn+ in funding so far. This position requires some overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a key contributor to the company’s stack and technical processes
  • Work with the data science and TechOps teams to deliver high-quality results to business
  • Offer technical leadership to data scientists with supportive feedback in code reviews and architecture documentation 
  • Participate in technical design, project planning, and lead the development of critical projects

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a data scientist 
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and Machine Learning
  • Nice to have experience with Amazon Redshift and BigQuery
  • Passion for data, technology, and people
  • Solid background in supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods
  • Extensive experience in big data technologies such as Spark, AWS Athena, Redshift, Sisense, Looker, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with deploying AWS SageMaker
  • Strong experience in SQL and programming in Python or R
  • Ability to perform exploratory data analysis
  • Nice to have experience in Databrick and Redshift 
  • Experience with monitoring, instrumentation tech, and vendor know-how (Segment, New Relic, Datadog, Pingdom, and/or PagerDuty)
  • Experience with Product Analytics like Google Analytics and/or Amplitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
