Job description

An NYSE-listed company that has established itself as the market leader in the pharmaceutical industry is looking for a Data Scientist. The selected candidate will work in the operations research team and contribute to the optimization modeling, mathematics, statistics, and programming techniques to reveal hidden business insights within the data. The company is channeling a century of experience to conduct research, develop, manufacture, and sell valuable healthcare items. This role will require an overlap with the EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Run statistical analysis of structured and unstructured data sets
  • Integrate data-driven mathematical models focusing on long-term decision-making processes
  • Build computational solutions using programming languages like Julia, Python, or Mosel
  • Assist in managing various working relationships to gather all necessary information required to solve business problems

Job Requirements:

  • M.Sc. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist
  • Thorough understanding of mathematical optimization, including algorithm development 
  • Experience in modeling and object oriented programming
  • Must have deep knowledge of manufacturing and related business processes
  • Proven experience in building mathematical programming models for optimizing different processes
  • Must be well-versed with basic knowledge of supply chain and operations management processes - planning, scheduling, and inventory management
  • Familiarity with data mining algorithms and machine learning techniques (regression, decision trees, probability networks, association rules, clustering, neural networks, Bayesian models) is required
  • Ability to work on large datasets, handling of healthcare-relevant datasets, and understand data analysis workflows are necessary
  • Expertise in one or more programming languages like R, Python, Julia, SAS, or Java
  • Familiarity with process optimization tools - Gurobi, CPLEX, BARON
  • Must have excellent proficiency in English - written and verbal
