Job description

An emerging healthcare company that provides an all-in-one technology platform to power dispensary operations is looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer. As an engineer, you’ll be working on everything from analytics software to two-sided marketplaces to IoT devices. The selected candidate will work closely with the founding team and take part in the technology-related decisions. The company is on a mission to provide consumers with safe and easy access to cannabis and has raised a fund of over $600 mn so far. This is a good opportunity for candidates to work with a fast-growing company and rise quickly through the ranks.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop mission-critical back-end services, including core consumer APIs, and API integrations with third-party web services
  • Work closely with product teams in designing and building customer-facing features
  • Develop core applications using ReactJS, Node.js, MobX, MongoDB, Next.js, Apollo GraphQL, styled-components, and React Native technologies
  • Work closely with the founding team and participate in technology-related decisions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of software development experience 
  • Proficiency in Ruby, JavaScript, and general software best practices
  • Strong experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Experience in designing and extending scalable data models and dependent data stores
  • Ability to write clean, tested, organized, and elegant code
  • A self-starter with an eagerness to learn
  • Great communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience building software in the e-commerce or regulatory industries is an added advantage
  • Nice to have some experience in building and monitoring infrastructure on cloud-native hosting providers (AWS)
  • Working knowledge of third-party integrations
