Job description

An early-stage startup on a mission to empower the next generation of achievers by assisting users in gaining direct access to the best thought leadership is looking for a Senior React Native Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for architecting and building performant iOS and Android ​applications. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the team to help design wireframes app on both iOS and Android
  • Develop stable app and UI components from prototypes and wireframes
  • Craft front-end modules with maximum code reusability and efficiency
  • Work with native programs as and when required
  • Use native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms
  • Troubleshoot and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native
  • Collaborate with open source communities to encourage and help implement
  • Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality
  • Work across cross-functional teams to build apps in stipulated time/budget

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software developer 
  • Extensive experience in React Native
  • Demonstrable experience with the entire mobile app development lifecycle
  • Proven track record in prototyping through app store delivery
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software development
  • Solid understanding of approaches, principles, and flows and experience monitoring a live app
  • Firm grasp of JavaScript (and ideally Typescript) and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax and transpiling
  • Solid understanding of React fundamentals such as Virtual DOM, component lifecycle, and component state
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the native ecosystems (ideally on both iOS and Android), native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio, IntelliJ, etc.
  • Comfortable working with native modules when required
  • Significant experience working with React web and mobile along with tools like Flux, Flow, Redux, etc., to manage app state and implement clean, smooth animations
  • Ability to write well-documented, clean code and simplify the refactoring process
  • Work with third-party dependencies, digging into cross-component issues, managing technical relations with vendors, and debugging
  • Firm grasp of REST and GraphQL APIs, the document request model, offline storage, and caching
  • Proven experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Mocha
  • Understanding a user-centric approach with the goal of creating personalized designs
  • Good interpersonal and collaboration skills
