Job description

A U.S.-based proprietary trading company that is tackling some of the toughest market challenges is looking for a Python Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for creating new tools and libraries or upgrading the ones that are already in place. The company is providing liquidity to customers and promoting a more efficient marketplace. Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to create new tools from scratch, as well as to enhance and incorporate current tools
  • Repair and fix software bugs while preserving the codebase's overall quality
  • Work with internal teams to comprehend user needs and offer technical answers
  • Keep abreast with the most recent market trends and best practices to continuously enhance your software development workflows

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Prolific experience working with Python, OOPS, AsyncIO, and API 
  • Prior Infrastructure development with financial services experience
  • Some knowledge of Kafka and UI is nice to have
  • Demonstrable FinTech experience is desirable
  • Solid familiarity with the built-in data structures and standard libraries of Python
  • In-depth knowledge of commonly used third-party libraries and frameworks for Python development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts of object-oriented programming, such as encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism
  • Extensive experience managing event loops and creating asynchronous jobs with the AsyncIO framework
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are needed to recognize and fix complicated technical problems
  • In-depth knowledge of code optimization and troubleshooting methods and tools
  • Strong understanding of unit testing and integration testing principles as they relate to software testing
  • Demonstrable experience using classes and objects to design and create modular, maintainable code
  • Prior experience with Python's asynchronous programming techniques
  • Ability to manage parallelism and concurrency effectively while avoiding frequent hazards like race situations and deadlocks
  • Demonstrable experience designing, creating, and deploying client-server communication APIs
  • Strong command of authentication, versioning, and request/response formats (JSON, XML, etc.) as well as API design principles
  • In-depth knowledge of Git and other version control systems used in collaborative development
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
