Job description

A fast-growing company offering alternative financing sources to real estate developers and investors is looking for a Python Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for improving security practices and operations across all levels of the platform. The company is providing customers with fast and flexible private lending services, revolutionizing the FinTech industry. This position requires some overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineering and the front-end to design and implement product features/improvements
  • Maintain and improve existing web and data applications
  • Build all engineering workflows and introduce thorough testing, release, deployment, QA, and documentation
  • Ability to develop guidelines for API implementation best practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Extensive experience in Python/Django
  • Prolific experience in Azure, API management, and Linux
  • Prior experience in MongoDB and Blob Storage
  • At least one year of experience with API Design, API Security, and Testing
  • Knowledge of web security, application security, web services security, common vulnerability remediation, and certificate management 
  • Nice to have experience in JavaScript, CSS/HTML, and React
  • Experience with other Python web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI) will also be considered
  • Nice to have knowledge of Excel 
  • Experience with DevOps is preferred but not required
  • Experience with containerized application deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience in Jira/Confluence for project management
  • Experience with data pipelines, NLP, OCR, and Geospatial data workflows is a plus
  • Experience with designing and employing Machine Learning architectures is desirable
  • Strong knowledge of API patterns 
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
