Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing a world-class marketing automation platform that enables businesses to grow organically at a rapid pace, is looking for a Database Engineer. The developer will help the existing team in maintaining and optimizing the databases for an already-running business. The company's cutting-edge AI technology enables businesses to initiate conversations and schedule more appointments for their businesses automatically. This position requires some overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular testing and reviews to assure data integrity, privacy, and security
  • Analyze database performance, make adjustments, and, when needed, apply new patches and versions
  • Work together with team members to coordinate various tasks
  • Participate in daily Slack conversations with the manager and give updates on the tasks accomplished each day.
  • Attend weekly Google Meets meetings
  • Keep the database up to date and address performance issues.
  • Maintain, migrate, and develop schemas with scalability in mind

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a database engineer
  • Extensive experience with NoSQL: Redis and MongoDB as well as SQL: MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
  • Prolific experience scaling databases horizontally and sharding
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Big Data and Grafana
  • Prior experience writing and maintaining robust test suites
  • Practical knowledge of database standards and user applications
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL
  • Prior experience with high-speed transaction recovery methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of both front-end and back-end DBA case tools as well as third-party tools
  • Nice to have some experience working with AWS, Node.js, and Docker
  • Must be ready to pick up new skills
  • Experience maintaining logs through CloudWatch, OpenSearch, etc. is desirable
  • Fluent in English communication, both spoken and written
