Job description

Job responsibilities

Develop VB prototypes, applications, and VBA scripts to automate Excel spreadsheets
Develop and maintain MS Office applications
Handle both front-end and back-end development procedures
Design, configure, develop, and implement enhancements and production fixes to existing systems
Develop and implement new systems, and handle the configuration
Use development best practices, and appropriate patterns to develop required software solutions.
Create SQL Server views, stored procedures, and queries, and actively mitigate potential security gaps
Create and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and guides
Define system scope and objectives based on the user requirements

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of applications programming experience (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
Extensive experience in VBA programming with Microsoft Access databases
Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Powerpoint
Well-versed with advanced excel features like V-lookup, H-lookup, data validation, pivot table, etc.
Proficient working with programming languages including Python, VB.NET, and VB scripts
Solid understanding of patterns in the data for both structured and unstructured
Good knowledge of databases like SQL, and PL/SQL
Fluency in English language for effective communication
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones

Preferred skills

Familiarity with data visualizations
Comfortable with Agile software development environment
Good reasoning, analytical, consultative, and communication skills
