Job description

A US-based company on a mission to streamline the mortgage closing process with efficiency and accountability is looking for a Senior Back-End-Heavy Software Developer. The selected candidate will analyze business and functional requirements and translate business requirements into technical specifications. The company's mortgage technology helps real estate participants to reimagine the closing process through vetted, hybrid integration, and automation. They have managed to raise more than $250mn in funding during their Series D round.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrate enough technical depth to negotiate trade-offs and push back when working with senior product and engineering leaders
Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems
Debug production issues across services
Work with engineers across teams to build large coherent features and scalable services
Build and contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and processes
Participate in code reviews and systems architecture design
Build a new tool for the company’s in-house Quality Control team
Contribute to fraud detection and security work

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 6+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
6+ years of experience building and maintaining APIs and Services
Extensive experience working with Ruby, Go, Typescript, ReactJs, and other related technologies
Experience owning and building complex distributed systems
Demonstrated ability to write modular and well-tested code while following object-oriented programming principles
Excellent oral and written communication and a positive attitude towards learning and collaboration
Experience mentoring junior engineers
In house startup experience or experience working in nimble teams with a similar pace and SDLC
