Job description

A US-based online platform actively engaging more than 480mn users on a monthly basis is looking for an iOS Engineer. The selected candidate will be tasked with setting and defining the standards that improve developer workflows. The global platform enables users to submit articles or posts that can be shared, discussed, and voted on by members of the virtual community. The company has managed to securely raise more than $1.2bn during their Series F round of funding. This role requires 4-5+ hours of overlap with the US time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering colleagues to implement product and business strategy 
  • Create innovative products and features that customers will like
  • Participate in all phases of the development process, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
  • Examine code and design documentation, as well as provide comments on product specifications and mockups
  • Discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Drive related technical, product strategy, operations, architecture, and execution goals
  • Lead a group of thoughtful, action-oriented, and enthusiastic engineers
  • Recommend best practices and assist engineers on the team in their professional development by coaching and mentoring them
  • Learn and develop your technical and non-technical skills regularly

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as an iOS engineer
  • At least 5+ years of experience developing user-facing iOS mobile native applications at scale
  • Prolific experience working with Swift and Objective-C
  • Demonstrable experience with multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS
  • Some knowledge of GraphQL, REST, HTTP basics, and the ability to design maintainable APIs is desirable
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
