Front-End Engineer

A U.S.-based company that is helping businesses to more cost-effectively and successfully address their regulatory, compliance, and litigation issues, is looking for a Kotlin developer with PostgreSQL experience. The engineer should be well-versed in the fundamentals of back-end development and have a track record of developing scalable, high-quality applications. They will collaborate closely with our engineering
team to create outstanding products that satisfy our users' expectations as they
design, implement, and manage our Kotlin-based backend services.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot
• Write well-organized, updatable, and documented code
• Work with PostgreSQL databases on design, development & optimization
• Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement new features 
• Participate in code reviews and ensure the quality of the codebase 
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues 
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Kotlin and Spring Boot technologies

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
• At least 4+ years of experience developing, testing, and debugging Kotlin applications
• Proficiency in Kotlin with a strong understanding of core concepts
• Familiarity with Kotlin asynchronous programming, concurrency, and other advanced features
• Solid understanding of Spring Boot and its ecosystem
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL or any other RDBMS databases
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Prior experience with RESTful APIs and microservices
• Demonstrable experience working with Java 17, JUnit, Spring Web, and Spring Core
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Offer Details:

• Long-term contractor postion (no medical / paid leave)
• Remote only, Full-time dedication (40 hours/week)
• Required 4 hours overlap with EST (Eastern Standard Time)

• Engage in long-term strategic planning and define complex application development
• Ability to work with other frameworks while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Make complex technical and design decisions

Job Requirements:

• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software developer
• 5+ years of experience working with OpenWrt
• Extensive experience working with Linux admin
• In-depth knowledge of Embedded Systems
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, C/C++, and Go/Golang
