Front End Developer-React

If selected for the role, the developer will be responsible for the Shippo experience across all of the product’s web properties. As a part of the engineering team, coordinating with the design team will be a priority for creating beautiful, interactive, and responsive interfaces. You will also ve responsible for implementing user interfaces, developing new pages end-to-end independently or collaborating with other team members in the implementation. Working with design, you will identify, propose and lead/help others build out reusable frontend components for improving the consistency and look and feel of the application.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide early input to design team for streamlining designs for
• Implementation
• Take part in design reviews of new features, products, and systems
• Work closely with the design team for building tools for creating interactive interfaces and create rapid prototypes of design concepts and responsive and accessible designs
• Develop UI layer to maximize design and code reuse, while leading the implementation of UI testing frameworks and tests, deploy new pages, and features
• Provide mentorship to junior team members and grow UI competencies of the engineering team
• Provide necessary feedback to improve usability of product and reduce the complexity in existing user interfaces
• Stay updated with high performance best practices, conduct performance tests regularly, and optimize web pages continuously and evangelize the adoption of developments of HTML, CSS, and JS

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in Front End Development
• Must possess expertise of working on web technologies, and latest developments while working with HTML, CSS, and Javascript ecosystems
• Must possess experience of building and maintaining solutions using React
• Should possess a thorough understanding of REST principles and API Design
• Experience of integrating wide variety of API Calls will be helpful
• Proven experience and success creating extensible style library and organizing code for reuse and maintainability
• Must be aware of best practices related to high-performance web sites
• Must have familiarity with building responsive web experiences leveraging browser and device capabilities, making use of emerging tools and best practices
• Solid understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX is required
• Eagerness to learn new frameworks and technologies will be beneficial
• Interest or understanding of security practices and test automation will be a bonus
• Must posses exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to communicate with non-technical team members with a deep understanding of customer needs and passion for customer success
• Abilitly to work with server-side programming languages like Go, Python, Java, or Scala, and MVC frameworks will be an advantage
• Experience of working with Typescript will be helpful
• Past experience of building e-commerce with internationalization will be an advantage
• Ability to build UIs from scratch is preferred
• Ability to build stable and effective testing is highly desirable
