Front-end Developer

A US-based company providing a world-class writing platform for schools, individuals, and families is looking for a Front-end Developer. The selected candidate will be joining an exciting startup environment while interacting directly with the founder and senior developers. The platform was developed with the objective of assisting students from all walks of life in leading intellectually healthy lifestyles by fostering media critical thinking, strong writing abilities, and literacy while making writing fun and enjoyable. This will be a full-time, long-term role that requires a 4+ hours overlap with the EST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct user testing to identify bugs and suggest improvements
• Adapt as the needs of the business change quickly and male a significant impact on the quality and level of the platform
• Champion through continuous process improvement and quality
• Communicate the user feedback analysis to the leadership and other stakeholders

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years relevant experience as a front-end developer
• Extensive HTML5, SASS, ES6, ReactJS, Webpack, (UX and wireframing) experience
• Nice to have a solid understanding of PHP7+, Laravel, REST API, and PDO
• Familiar with Continuous Integration and Delivery
• Experience with GIT along with feature branch and environment merge policy
• Nice to have some experience with test-driven frameworks like Cypress, Mocha, Expect.js, or PHPUnit
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Passion for test-driven code
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated competencies in teamwork, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and analysis 
• Solid understanding of the process and system design
• Strong time management skills
