Job description

An emerging company that works with financial institutions, banks, NBFCs, and digital lending organizations to increase the efficiency of their collection efforts is looking for a Data Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the developed platforms meet standards set for reliability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Major banks and NBFCs are among the company's clients, allowing them to increase their NPA, geographic reach, and customer experience in a cost-effective manner. The company uses technology, automated intelligence, and the most efficient legal channels to resolve stressed assets. During their Series A round, the company managed to raise more than $28mn in funding. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with functional programming languages like SQL and Python to conduct data analysis 
  • Build and maintain modern machine learning production systems
  • Extract, transform, and stage data for data scientists using data querying tools
  • Update senior team members and junior business partners about moderately complex business analytics
  • Work with limited mentorship of data scientists on feature generation
  • Thoroughly test checks and balances to ensure data accuracy
  • Build ongoing mechanisms for visualizing results of the model

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a Data Engineer
  • Must possess experience in working with database technology such as Hadoop, EMR, Redshift, Spark, or Scala and one ML model implementation
  • Expertise in coding using Python, Shell, or SQL
  • Must have a thorough understanding of scalable model training leveraging big data platforms
  • Strong base in working with ML libraries/frameworks like Tensorflow, AWS Sagemaker, Keras, etc.
  • Should be able to script ETL jobs and configure real-time data pipelines
  • Professional experience of working with parallel processing data technologies like Spark or Hadoop 
  • Understanding of orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
  • Prior experience of working on highly available distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
  • Excellent business and interpersonal skills to collaborate with major stakeholders
