Skills required to become a Python/Django developer

Both Python and Django are widely used languages used to develop the back-end of an application and in other areas such as data science and automation. Needless to say, to apply for Python/Django developer jobs, it is necessary on your part to acquire these skills to significantly expand your competence.

1. System Programming in Python

Python’s inbuilt interfaces and the extensive library of OS services make it the right tool to develop system administration utilities, create portable applications, find directories and files. This open-source language even allows you to use multiple threads and processes to perform parallel computation or run other programs.

2. ORM Libraries

Object Relational Mappers or ORMS are clusters of libraries that allow transferring of data relational databases to python objects. Django developers use these libraries to make the required changes in the stored databases using Python code. These mapper libraries can save you a significant amount of time in development and allow you to seamlessly switch between relational databases.

3. Graphical User Interface

The scalability and high-speed development of python make it ideal for the creation of Graphical User Interface. Python offers various tools for developing GUIs, such as the Tkinter toolkit. Tkinter is the fastest and easiest way to create GUI applications. Hence it is essential to get familiar with Python tools to apply for remote Django developer jobs.

4. Version Control

During the development phase, every software project undergoes tons of changes. With Version Control, you can track all the changes and have complete traceability. As the process gets complex, the need to manage multiple versions of the code rises. This is where Version Control comes into play. The VC system allows multiple users to work on the same project and facilitates collaboration across teams. It has high significance in software configuration management making it an essential skill for a Django developer.

5. RESTful APIs

RESTful APIs or Representational State Transfer provides the developer with the flexibility to build an API to meet the company’s needs as well as its customers. It has emerged as the most common method for developers to connect components and applications in the architecture to simplify network communication. A thorough understanding of the RESTful services could prove beneficial for the project requirements.
