Web Front-End Engineer

A fast-growing start-up active in the media production space is looking for a Web Front-End Engineer. The engineer will help pioneer a product that is changing the way creators produce content for the first time. The company is focused on eliminating the hassles of video production and enabling creators to develop beautiful and engaging video content at the click of a button. As an early member of the team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the initial version of the Cloud Studio, functioning as a browser-based production platform to produce live events in real-time. The selected candidate will work with a desire to learn new technologies, discuss new ideas, and work collaboratively with a team of engineers to build the platform. This role requires a time overlap with PST.

Job Responsibilities:

• Learn new technologies, discuss new ideas, and work collaboratively with a team of engineers to build the platform
• Collaborate on and debate technical implementations
• Work with a team of engineers, perform code reviews, and set best engineering practices
• Owning projects from inception to completion

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience in a software engineering role (i.e., software, systems, architecture, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of Typescript, React, CSS, and front-end development tools
• A conceptual understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and CouchDB
• Love for challenges and video as an integral aspect of human living 
• Proven track record of breaking through walls on your way to success
• Showcase a self-motivated attitude with an interest or experience in Machine Learning and building rapid prototypes
• Fluency with modern UX/UI design concepts in Typescript and React
• Ability to pick up a new programming language or framework
• Experience working with live streaming applications, embedded systems or cameras, drones, smartphones, JD 3, etc.
• Experience working on third party stream distribution APIs like YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, and Instagram
