Job description

A US-based company building an all-in-one platform solution to grow and manage farms is looking for a Software Engineer. The engineer will be tasked with utilizing different systems and technologies to resolve various technical issues. The company is helping farmers save time and grow sales by managing inventory online and automating orders across web, social, mobile, and email. The company has raised more than $16 mn in funding so far. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and rise quickly through the ranks.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help establish the architecture and code, prioritizing quality, simplicity, maintainability, and performance
  • Be an active participant in code reviews, including testing and documentation
  • Be in charge of learning and adapting to new technologies, tools, methods, and processes
  • Boost the platform's performance, usability, and scalability
  • Work in tandem with product owners to define the scope of work for future releases
  • Build and develop small and large-scale testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Work actively and practice self-driven learning and team problem-solving
  • Work comprehensively on the product, including design, development, code reviews, patent creation, testing, documentation, and deployment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 2+ years of experience in full-stack development using an object-oriented language
  • 2+ years of experience in building responsive UI’s using the latest JS Frameworks
  • Expertise in leading technical designs and implementation of highly scalable and adaptable systems
  • Capacity to tackle complex software engineering challenges in a dynamic environment
  • Competency in software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and asynchronous concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior involvement in performance testing, security testing, privacy testing, accessibility testing, and localization/globalization testing
  • Excellent skills in problem resolution, judgment, negotiating, and decision-making
  • Capable of deciding on next steps as well as recognizing when a decision requires management approval
  • Proficiency in English
