Job description

A U.S.-based company that is pioneering AI research and technologies that push safety to new boundaries is looking for a Software Engineer. The engineer will have to assume responsibility for making sure the work fits in seamlessly with the other elements, in the event that the search queries are a part of a bigger project. The company is creating systems that people can rely on and producing research regarding the potential benefits and hazards of AI in order to increase the safety of large-scale, dependable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The company has managed to secure $3.1bn+ in funding so far.

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • In order to efficiently browse the codebase and assess the functionality, organization, and effectiveness of the code by showcasing a thorough understanding of Python
  • Possess a thorough understanding of search methods and strategies to conduct searches across the codebase in order to locate particular variables, functions, or classes, spot redundant or ineffective code, etc.
  • Take charge of troubleshooting, debugging, and coming up with solutions for any problems or errors that surface while scanning the source
  • Construct dependable and efficient response prompts by writing scripts or algorithms that will automatically respond to certain user inputs or questions
  • To guarantee the codebase's effectiveness and performance, it must be maintained and improved which includes regular software upgrades, code optimization through refactoring, and continuous code reviews
  • For future reference, record the query results and actions in a more comprehensive manner
  • Report teamwork results to the project manager or team lead on a regular basis
  • Keep abreast on Python's latest releases and features to learn how the team is refining and streamlining their efforts across the codebase
  • Validate the output product works as intended


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Prolific experience working with Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Some understanding of Java and C# is desirable
  • Great collaboration and time management skills
  • Fluent in English communication, both spoken and written
