Software Developer

A well-established animal hospital committed to ensuring the profession of veterinary medicine has the best future possible, is looking for a Software Developer. The developer will be tasked with ensuring that the state of the platform continues to exceed customers’ expectations. The U.S.-based organization is on a mission to create a change in the veterinary community and improve the lives of people and pets. So far, the company has managed to successfully raise more than $23 mn in funding. This position requires some overlap with the PST time zone and will be a long-term role. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Write web applications to integrate productivity tools across the company's platform 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the company
• Examine cloud products and documentation to develop integrations and new features
• Examine, fix bugs and fix performance issues

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript/Typescript/Node.js, Elixir, Ruby, or Python
• Prolific knowledge of API designs 
• Comprehensive knowledge of relational databases
• A high bar for code quality with a belief in automated testing 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous engagements
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
• Desire to mentor and support a team of fellow developers
• Ability to think through challenges and develop features that solve them elegantly
• Ability to challenge and improve the company’s current architecture 
• Excitement for building critical integrations for veterinary hospitals 
• Fluent in verbal and written English
