Job description

A globally recognized Silicon Valley-based company producing and selling networking hardware and telecommunications equipment is looking for a Senior Software Platform Engineer (Node.js and Python). The selected candidate will collaborate with like-minds and contribute revolutionary ideas that will impact everything from retail, healthcare, and entertainment to public and private sectors. The NASDAQ-listed company has gained more than 70K employees worldwide and channels its effort to build teams to expand the technology solutions in the mobile, cloud, security, IT, and big data spaces. Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team with innovations spanning AI/ML, analytics, IoT, security, automation, and more
  • Develop highly reliable and scalable services and design innovative platform solutions
  • Help in building the new network
  • Offer new ideas and enthusiasm to jump into opportunities, transforming industries as they emerge and grow
  • Take responsibility for some of the toughest challenges in the tech world while collaborating with the team
  • Work across different time zones in collaboration with geographically distributed teams 
  • Work closely with a core group of engineers, leadership team, and product management to deliver cutting-edge systems and platforms
  • Handle some challenging scaling requirements that are deployed on the cloud as well as on-prem
  • Build high performant, highly scalable, complex, and distributed systems from end to end
  • Develop simple solutions to address complex problems
  • Engineer an integration platform that connects discreet, heterogeneous, streaming, high-volume, large scale, multi-cloud ready, internal and external systems 
  • Utilize a highly modular microservices framework and contribute to the codebase
  • Offer technical solutions to the leadership team, feedback on solutions recommended, and new product ideas 
  • Walk team through design review, pair programming, code review, and tech talk
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute relevant ideas to scale the products

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 8+ years of relevant software development experience 
  • Competency in designing and developing platforms, frameworks, and components for highly scalable, high performing distributed systems
  • Expertise in the modern stack: Stream processing, micro-services development, API (REST)
  • Proficiency in at least one stack of Java, Python, and Go
  • Experience in API Gateways, REST-based services, both the server and client-side
  • Well-versed in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
  • Knowledge of Cloud and Development / build tools: Jenkins, Gradle/SBT/Maven, GIT, AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL: Elastic Search, Postgres, MongoDB, Graph Databases, and queries / GraphQL
  • Solid understanding of extensive, high performance, real-time, cloud-agnostic platforms and solutions
  • Capacity to build modular, metadata-driven components that showcase their server-side and client-side responsibilities and capabilities
  • Prolific skills in multi-tenant system design, cloud and container-based deployments, API Gateways, integrations, and workflows
  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Excellent documentation and presentation abilities
  • Sound product engineering experience
  • Be highly flexible, adaptable, and demonstrate a passion for platform development
  • Strong passion to work on a groundbreaking technology with global impact
  • Demonstrate a “take-charge” and “can-do” attitude with great flexibility and resiliency
  • Ability to share technical solutions and product ideas with the broader team through design review, code review, proofs-of-concept, etc.
  • Willingness to switch to a technology stack outside your comfort zone that demands the current need
  • Asides working with Go and Java, be ready to take up a suitable alternative (Python/NodeJS/etc.) when the situation demands it
