Job description

A U.S.-based company providing modern software to help manufacturers effectively run their operations is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The engineer will join the team to continue building the customer-facing and internal products. The company is committed to assisting manufacturers of all sizes and industrial sectors in making the best use of their production data. The company has managed to raise close to $15 mn in funding. This position requires an overlap with the CST and EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working in a wide variety of contexts to build large APIs and microservices
  • Build scalable systems for the web and for mobile
  • Collaborate with the product owner to develop new ideas and figure out the best way to implement them
  • Overcoming the difficulties presented by distributed systems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3-5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Have a flair for technical content and solving customer’s problems
  • Knowledge of one or more object-oriented languages (Python preferred)
  • Proficiency in relational databases; performance tuning, and sharding
  • Experience with distributed systems; containerization, message queues, and parallelism
  • Knowledge of DevOps tooling and practices (CI/CD, Monitoring) will be nice to have
  • Experience deploying infrastructure (Infrastructure-as-code, cloud formation, ansible) is a plus
  • Expertise in AWS and Ansible
  • Lambda serverless is nice to have 
  • Ability to take up management responsibilities; lead a project, answer questions, and delegate project tasks
  • Knowledge of front-end development using React
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
