Job description

A US-based transportation company that has created a one-of-a-kind infrastructure, data, and management system, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidates will be responsible for transforming a product's vision and business objectives into enjoyable user experiences. The company is managing a platform of sustainable vehicles and competent drivers to alter the shared mobility customer experience for the better. The company has managed to successfully raise close to $25 mn in funding.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Customer-focused, with a desire to create the best, most elegant solutions
  • Determine technical feasibility and problem resolution through problem definition, evaluation, analysis, and solution development
  • Team player with strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal abilities
  • Keep track of new releases, feature sets, and workarounds for existing issues
  • New release fixes and code changes must be tested and verified
  • Participate in daily standups, iteration/sprint planning meetings, sprint reviews, retrospectives, Jira, one-on-ones, and internal consulting with team and stakeholders while reporting and removing roadblocks
  • Ensure that policy, practice, and teamwork are followed
  • Take ownership of the product quality and possess a thorough understanding of Quality
  • Anticipate problems and challenges in advance
  • Update job knowledge by researching cutting-edge development tools, programming techniques, and computing hardware
  • Take part in educational opportunities and keep your personal networks active

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Demonstrable commitment to Agile and SCRUM practice/methodologies
  • Experience with BDD and TDD and writing Unit, Functional, and Protocol level tests
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to the non-technical audience
  • Prior experience writing documentation including technical specifications, test plans, whitepapers, and internal documentation
  • Prolific experience with IDEs like Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, and IntelliJ
  • Experience working with CI, Dockers, Containers, and software orchestration
  • Knowledge of Cloud deployments with AWS, Azure, or Google
  • Demonstrable ability to use the right technologies and the right solution without being encumbered by trying to adapt what they have done in the past
  • Experience with Java and C# development and frameworks such as Spring MVC / Spring Boot and .NET
  • Experience with RBDMS and NoSQL databases such as MSSQL, MySQL and PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Cassandra
  • Knowledge of Node.js and front-end technologies such as Angular 2.0, React, and Vue.js
  • Familiarity with mobile technologies and development frameworks
  • Excellent team player with skills to effectively communicate with a diverse team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent ability to handle conflict, complicated situations, and urgent issues professionally
  • Proficiency in English communication
