Job description

A fast-growing company building an innovative platform that makes car purchases and ownership easy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be part of the checkout team and work closely with the web and mobile engineers to build back-end functionalities. The NASDAQ-listed company provides users with comprehensive, digital solutions throughout the entire car ownership lifecycle. So far, the company has securely managed to raise $500 mn+ in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm with product, design, and engineering teams to conceptualize and build new features
  • Design, build, and innovate APIs and services critical to company’s consumer experience
  • Identify project risks and build a roadmap around project alternatives
  • Own the delivery of high-quality solutions by applying engineering best practices
  • Support the customer success team in triaging production issues
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and procedures
  • Regularly perform code reviews and architectural reviews
  • Mentor junior engineers

 Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience with high-level languages (including Ruby)
  • Extensive experience building APIs and back-end systems using ORMs (e.g., ActiveRecord), automated testing (unit, functional, and integration tests) on a cloud platform (e.g., AWS)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Strong communication skills in English and interpersonal skills
