Job description

A US-based company focusing on helping users plan the perfect group trip is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for setting up and scaling the core values of a new and growing engineering team. The company is developing a purpose-built tool that will allow travelers to collectively organize group getaways. This is an amazing opportunity for developers who are eager to work with a promising consumer startup. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to create, test, and maintain features for the app
  • In a continuous integration environment, release code directly to production and contribute to the iterative improvement of the product development lifecycle
  • Contribute to the product roadmap by understanding the challenges of group travel and suggesting ways to provide valuable solutions to the users
  • Mentor and assist the peers in developing their skill sets, confidence, and craft as product engineers
  • Promoting best practices in software development and raising the bar for well-functioning, highly-changeable code
  • Pair programming with peers, collaborating on software design, and code review, all while constructively creating opportunities for improvement and coaching engineers
  • Work with the CTO to establish a culture of quality software engineering, brainstorming and evaluating architectural tradeoffs, and assisting in technology roadmap decision-making

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Must have experience with React and Typescript
  • Knowledge of Ruby on Rails is nice to have
  • Familiarity with the design patterns and a pragmatic approach are required
  • Must be experienced with debugging and performance monitoring tools
  • Experience interfacing directly with product and project managers
