Senior Java Engineer

An investment platform used by hundreds of thousands of customers, including high-frequency API traders and institutions to engage in blockchain trading, is looking for a Senior Java Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for the team’s execution, the quality they produce, including the speed and manner they produce it. The company is planning to expand its business and develop new services for new sectors, markets, and institutions. This will be a full-time position that requires 4+ hours overlap with the AEST time zone.

• Lead engineers in driving operational excellence and best practices 
• Look into every corner of the business (logs, metrics, customer feedback, issues, etc.) to get ideas on how to improve systems and make customers happy 
• Pivot on the fly given new data and feedback
• Be a role model for the engineering team 
• Actively build and contribute to the core platform
• Update plans or change priorities to win their trust
• Choose the right amount of engineering (not over-engineering or under-engineering) and find simple architecture and solutions

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
• Prolific experience with Java, AWS, and REST API
• Programming experience with Java and related tooling/technologies 
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new or existing systems (Security, Reliability, and Scaling) 
• Knowledge and understanding of Distributed Systems 
• Experience and understanding of what it means to run applications/services on production infrastructure (e.g., AWS, etc.) 
• Knowledge of Single Sign-on, oAuth2 systems 
• Strong problem-solving skills
