Job description

A consumer genomics company that is creating a database where users can upload and save DNA data in order to gain access to more information, commodities, and health studies is looking for a Full-Stack Back-End-Heavy Engineer. The engineer will be taking charge of developing key features while driving the development of solutions and resolving problems that were entrusted to them. The US-based company's advanced DNA analytics services helps customers to understand what shapes their body, mind, and character to create a unique individual. During their Seed round, the company has managed to raise more than $9mn in funding. This will be a full-time, long-term position requiring 6-8+ hours overlap with the PST time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Revenue and Science teams to configure new scientific discoveries and related bioinformatics pipelines to the system and release new paid reports
  • Collaborate with the engagement team to develop automated gamification systems allowing users to unlock unique analyses in exchange for contributing their survey data
  • Assist the Growth team in improving funnel conversion metrics and developing product-led growth features like unique referral programs
  • Collaborate with the CTO to build and improve web application architecture to scale the service available for millions of users and interact with various applications at high processing speed in secured environments

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working as a full-stack developer
  • Expertise in developing Python-based solutions
  • Must be well versed with AWS development and related technologies (AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline, AWS Elastic Beanstalk)
  • Experience in working with Django and PostgreSQL will be helpful
  • Ability to work with languages like JavaScript or Typescript is preferred
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with technologies like Snowflake, Amplitude, BrowserStack, and Datadog will be beneficial
