Job description

An emerging nonprofit news aggregator that helps users to break out of their filter bubble and be informed about the latest news is looking for a Full-Stack Front-End-Heavy Developer. The selected candidate will be working closely and collaboratively with a diverse team of talented industry veterans to deliver high-quality user-facing products. The platform was developed by a group of researchers at MIT in order to give users control over their news consumption. This will be a full-time, long-term position that can lead to career-boosting opportunities. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build both public-facing and internal-facing features from start to finish
  • Be responsible for designing database changes, APIs, and excellent responsive layouts
  • Learn about the core mission and work with the team to create new product features
  • Work with sound analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities 
  • Actively collaborate with other team members to efficiently deliver high-quality solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience working as a full-stack developer
  • Must have an experience in PHP, React, Python, and MySQL
  • Expertise in Jira software and Toggl is nice to have
  • Proficient in English communication
