Job description

A fast-emerging B2B payments platform for small businesses is looking for a Backend Engineer. As an engineer within the team, you will take pride in high coding standards and modern development practices to build and scale the payments platform. The company has raised over $3 mn in funding and experienced month-to-month revenue growth. The job presents a great chance for the candidate to join a startup funded by well-known VC firms, experienced entrepreneurs, and a team of professionals, with long-term opportunities for growth. It requires an 8-hour overlap with PST.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and scale the payments platform
  • Leverage modern development practices in building scalable applications
  • Implement and maintain high coding and development standards
  • Deliver value to the customers while bringing unique ideas and perspective

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Must be proficient with Ruby on Rails and Heroku
  • Experience with React and Typescript
  • Excellent knowledge of software design and scalable architecture
  • A deep understanding of backend production systems
  • Independent, fast learner, and excited about learning new technologies
  • Proactive team player with a desire to impact the team, product, and customers
  • Experience working on payments or risk systems is a plus
  • Multilingual with an ability to speak Spanish is preferred
