Job description

A US-based furniture rental platform is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer. The startup has raised a seed funding of over $21mn so far and is expanding its latest end-to-end furnishing services. The selected candidate will help the team in architecting and building the core company product. The developer will build tools to enhance customer communication, inventory data, order, and delivery processes. You will have to use third-party integrations for internal tooling, payments, and data collection. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to work in a fast-growing startup environment. This is a full-time role that requires a long-term commitment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand business requirements and build backend architecture of the product 
  • Build and improve tools for internal teams to manage communications, inventory data, order, and delivery process 
  • Use third-party integrations for internal tooling, payments, order last-mile efforts, and data collection
  • Enhance product security, maintainability, and system performance 
  • Architect and build reliable and efficient systems from scratch 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform stability and efficiency 
  • Lead and mentor junior developers 
  • Fix bugs and build powerful tools for integrated supply and logistics chain 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of extensive backend development experience 
  • Proficient with Ruby on Rails, relational database modeling, and programming
  • Excellent working knowledge of operational best practices, cloud systems performance, security, and maintainability 
  • Fluency in English and excellent collaboration skills
